WARRANTY AND RETURN POLICY


As the legal name of our company, "Forest City Surplus 1986 Limited" suggests, we have been in the surplus business for a long time.
We purchase products in large quantities from manufacturers and reverse logistics warehouses across North America on an "as is" basis.
Some manufacturers may offer warranties at their discretion when they sell off clearance inventory. However, our buyers are looking for the best prices. Therefore, we never assume there are any extended warranties.

In contrast, the large big box stores purchase from manufacturers on a guaranteed sale basis.
When products do not sell, these big box stores return the products to the manufacturer for a refund.
We then purchase these surplus products from the manufacturer at a lower price. The option of returning them is not a part of the deal.

Often the cartons are damaged, or the products may have minor scatches or dents, but they can provide a significant savings for our customers. And that is what our business is about.
At the same time, we realize that on occasion a surplus product may be defective. Therefore, our store offers a 14 day return policy.

In addition to surplus, we also offer discount prices on brand new retail products from a number of manufacturers, including Pyle, Pyramid, Lanzar and others.
With these products our aim is to sell volume, so we endeavor to keep our prices as low as possible.
The manufacturers of these new products frequently offer their own extended warranties, and their warranty service instructions will be found within the packaging.

Return Policy :
 
  • We do not accept returned products without proof of purchase. 
  • We offer product exchange or store gift cards only. We do not offer refunds. 
  • Items may be returned for exchange or credit within 14 days of the delivery date only if returned in original condition and in original packaging.  
  • Any claims of shipping damages or the wrong items being shipped must also be made within 14 days of the product arriving.
  • Items marked as CLEARANCE are final sale and cannot be returned.  
  • We will not accept products that are not returned complete in original condition.
  • We cannot accept returned underwear, swim wear, pillows, whistles, toothbrushes, or other personal use, body contact products. This is in compliance with Health Canada safety regulations and general common sense in protecting our staff and customers from the spread of viruses and disease.
  • We will not refund shipping costs unless we have made a shipping error.
  • We will not refund shipping costs for any exchanges or errors by the customer in choosing the wrong product.
  • If it is necessary to return a product because of an error or defect, please ship by regular surface post.  Shipping costs for more expensive methods will NOT be refunded. 
  • If a package is undeliverable to the address provided, or is refused at the delivery address, a refund will be issued after the product is returned to us and the cost of shipping both ways is deducted.
  • Store credits will be issued for a defective product for which there is no replacement available.
 



 
 

RETURN SHIPPING INSTRUCTIONS

If you do not follow these simple instructions, your package will not reach us. 
It will be automatically stopped by Canada Post, marked "refused" and returned to you.

Please read our warranty policy and return shipping instructions!

  • If it is necessary to ship a product to us from the USA or Canada
    please use Parcel Post Ground and insure the shipment for your protection.
  • Do not ship air mail unless you wish to pay the additional expense yourself.
  •  
  • Please do not ship U.P.S. (United Parcel Service)  from the USA
  • If you attempt to send a package to us by U.P.S. (United Parcel Service) from the USA, it will simply be refused before delivery and returned to you.
  • All shipments to us must have our RETURN SHIPPING LABEL. If you do not attach the return shipping label, Canada Post will automatically refuse to deliver the package and return it to you.
  • If you do not attach the return shipping label Canada Post will automatically refuse to deliver the package and return it to you. 
    (when you call us later to complain don't say we didn't tell you about this)

  • Please enclose a copy of your invoice as proof of purchase
  • Please remove any original shipping labels to avoid confusing the post office about which address to deliver to.
  • We will not accept C.O.D. shipments. They will be returned to you.
  • PLEASE be sure to enclose a note explaining the reason for your return. It is best to contact us first by phone, email, or Facebook page message to discuss your return. If you will still be shipping the product back, follow the above instructions and summarize your reason.
